The 21st Annual Letter Carriers’ Association Stamp Out Hunger food drive is this Saturday, May 11,2013.
“On Saturday, May 11, the nation’s 175,000 letter carriers will collect the donations residents leave near their mail boxes, as they deliver mail. People are encouraged to leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods, such as canned soup, canned vegetables, canned meats and fish, pasta, rice or cereal next to their mailbox before the regular mail delivery on Saturday.” — from NALC press release.
Leave non-perishable food items in a bag at your mailbox early on Saturday. It will be collected as the letter carriers go about their appointed rounds & will be distributed to local food banks. What could be easier? Do tell.
