Once again, Mayor Pro Tem Donna Michelson, along with the City Of Mill Creek, is pleased to bring Free Document Shredding Day to the community of Mill Creek! This is the perfect time to go through all those files, piles of paper on your desk or countertop, and boxes of old documents and clean out all the stuff you just don’t need to keep around. The great thing is that you won’t worry about your identity and private information going to who knows where, because Shred-it will shred it all, right on the spot. Do tell.
This event will take place on Saturday September 17, 2011 between 10am and 2pm at the Mill Creek City Hall located at 15728 Main Street in Mill Creek. This is a community event. You do not have to be a resident of Mill Creek. Everyone is welcome.
Not sure what to keep and what to shred? One great website I found is from Consumer Reports website. They have a pretty concise list of guidelines: http://tinyurl.com/2djk45h They use the term “toss”, but anything with sensitive/personal information should be be “shredded” to help prevent identity theft.
Also, while this is a free event, non-perishable food items will be collected at the same time and place. This is completely voluntary, but please consider bringing a contribution to help those in our community.

Can you please tell me when another free shredding is planned. Last August was last one but haven’t heard of any coming up and would really be handy this time of year with tax stuff to get rid of and the likes. Thanks looking forward to hearing from you.
I will look into it.

I’m new to the area and was hoping to find a community shredding event in the near future.
Hope to hear from you. Thank you
Hi, Thank you for your interest. The City of Mill Creek is not planning event in the near future, but possibly next year sometime. However, I did find a couple planned in the next couple of months in Lynnwood, WA — Sat. Sept 22 from 10-2 at 1st Security Bank 19002 33rd Ave W. and on Sat. Sept 29 from 10-2 Mountain Pacific Bank, 19705 Hwy 99 Shredding provided by Shred-it at both events. The next closest would be in Everett Sat. Oct 20 10-1 BECU 11127 Evergreen Way Shredding provided by Db Secure Shred. These events may be subject to change & for more info on individual event contact organization hosting.Hope this helps!
