This was the first time I took my girls to this location. It is near our new home and it sounded like a good time for a family. I couldn’t have been more disappointed. Organizers and most of the parents should be ashamed of themselves. This wasn’t an easter egg hunt. This was a shotgun mad scramble for candy. At 11:ooam, the countdown for 3-year-olds began. The ribbon boundary was pulled up by some parents and trampled down by others. My 3 year-old daughter became tangled in the legs by the ribbon. I was shocked to see parents rush the field with their kids. I freed my child from the ribbon and encouraged her to go pick up eggs ALONE with the rest of the seeming hundreds of people in the swell of inhumanity. She was overwhelmed by the number of large adults scrambling for eggs. I even saw parents rushing to pick up eggs for their kids and put them in their baskets. My child did even get a chance to pick up ONE SINGLE EGG. We immediately left in disgust and will never return. I read an article recently about how Easter Egg hunts across the country have been canceled due to hovering and despicable competitiveness of parents. Congrats to you Mill Creek and Co. for you are no different. Parents should have remained on the sidelines and let the kids ONLY participate. Nothing here today resemble the teachings of Jesus Christ and my family is not even religious. This was a lesson in selfishness and next year we’ll return to the Edmonds egg hunt were the adults have class and remain on the sidelines.
